The Same Old Story
A middle-aged professor heard a knock on the door of his office on campus.
After taking a moment to get to the door, he opened it and found an elderly man standing there with a warm smile.
“May I come in?” the old man asked. “I worked in this very office thirty years ago when I was a professor at this college.”
“Of course!” replied the professor. “Please come in.”
The old man looked around the room, reminiscing about the past.
He said,
“The same old room, the same old wooden table, the same ventilator, and the same old window that opens to the garden.
And the same old desk.”
As he examined the desk more closely, he noticed a young woman hiding underneath it.
The professor became nervous and quickly said,
“Please don’t misunderstand. She’s my daughter. She dropped her earring and is looking for it.”
The old man sighed and said,
“And the same old story…”
