During break time, a teacher noticed that one of his students, Johnny, was sitting alone and looking miserable.
The teacher sat beside him.
Teacher:
“Johnny, what’s wrong? Are you sick?”
Johnny:
“No.”
Teacher:
“Then what’s wrong?”
Johnny:
“I just want to be alone.”
Teacher:
“Come on. Why don’t you tell me a story?”
Johnny thought for a moment.
Johnny:
“Okay. I’ll tell you a story in four parts.”
Teacher:
“Now you’re talking! What’s it about?”
Johnny:
“My mom and dad.”
Teacher:
“That sounds interesting. What’s part one?”
Johnny:
“My mom and dad were driving to a camping site yesterday. When they reached a fork in the road, my dad said, ‘Honey, we’re taking the right road.'”
“But Mom said, ‘No, that road is too muddy! Take the other one!'”
“Suddenly, Dad slapped Mom and asked, ‘Who is driving? You or me?'”
Teacher:
“Wow! That was harsh.”
Johnny:
“Really? You should hear what happened in part two.”
Teacher:
“Okay, what happened?”
Johnny:
“When they reached the campsite, Dad went fishing while Mom stayed behind. About an hour later, Dad came back with five fish.”
“Mom was happy and said, ‘Well done, honey! Bring them here and I’ll boil them and make you some soup.'”
“Dad said, ‘No, no, no! I don’t want boiled fish. Grill them first and then fry them later.'”
“Before he could finish, Mom gave him a big slap and asked, ‘Who is cooking? You or me?'”
Teacher:
“Fair enough! I like how smart your mother is.”
Johnny:
“Me too. But now I want to tell you about the fourth part. You’ll really like it!”
Teacher:
“Why the fourth part? Tell me what happened in the third part first.”
Johnny suddenly gave the teacher a big slap.
Teacher:
“Johnny! What was that for?”
Johnny:
“Who is telling the story? You or me?”
