An elderly American couple was standing nearby, wearing shorts and enjoying the day.
The wife noticed another couple dressed a little differently and became curious.
“Look at that couple,” she said to her husband. “I wonder where they’re from.”
Her husband shrugged.
“How would I know?”
“You could go ask them,” she suggested.
He shook his head.
“I’m not that curious. If you want to know, you go ask them.”
So the wife walked over to the couple with a friendly smile.
“Excuse me,” she said. “I noticed the way you’re dressed, and I was wondering where you’re from.”
The man replied,
“Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.”
The woman returned to her husband.
“Well,” he asked, “where are they from?”
She shrugged and said,
“I don’t know. They don’t speak English.”
