A husband and wife woke up early on a Sunday morning. After breakfast, the wife got ready for church, but her husband was still sitting at the kitchen table in his pajamas, drinking coffee.
Wife:
“Why aren’t you getting dressed for church?”
Husband:
“Simple. I’m not going.”
Wife:
“You’re not going? Why not?”
Husband:
“I have three very good reasons. First, the church is freezing in the morning. I spend the whole service shivering.”
“Second, nobody there likes me. They’re always whispering about me and talking behind my back.”
“And third, I just don’t feel like going today.”
The wife looked at him and shook her head.
Wife:
“Well, I’ll give you three very good reasons why you are going.”
Husband:
“Alright, let’s hear them.”
Wife:
“First, the church isn’t cold. It’s perfectly warm.”
“Second, I’m sure there are people there who actually like you.”
She paused, smiled, and gave him the final reason.
Wife:
“And third… you’re the minister. Now get dressed!”
