Nosferatu the vampire wants to find a bat to be his companion, so he holds a competition.
Nosferatu:
“Whoever returns with the most blood on their face gets the job!”
He takes the four bats to the top of his castle and sends out the first one.
A short while later, the first bat returns with some blood on his face.
Nosferatu:
“Good job! How did you do that?”
First Bat:
“See that school over there? I found a whole group of people and had a feast.”
Nosferatu is impressed and sends out the second bat.
The second bat returns with even more blood covering his face.
Nosferatu:
“Excellent! How did you do it?”
Second Bat:
“See that village over there? I found plenty of people there.”
Nosferatu is impressed again and sends out the third bat.
The third bat returns with a huge amount of blood on his face.
Nosferatu:
“Fantastic! How did you do that?”
Third Bat:
“See that church over there? I found a crowd of people inside.”
Nosferatu is amazed and sends out the fourth and final bat.
The fourth bat returns with his entire face covered in blood.
Nosferatu:
“Oh my! Fantastic job! How on earth did you do that?”
Fourth Bat:
“See that tower over there?”
Nosferatu:
“Well, no, I don’t.”
Fourth Bat:
“Neither did I.”
