A jogger was running down a country road when he suddenly heard a horse shout,
“Hey, come over here, buddy!”
Startled, the jogger stopped and ran over to the fence where the horse was standing.
“Were you talking to me?” he asked.
“Sure was,” replied the horse. “I’ve got a problem. A few years ago, I won the Kentucky Derby. Then this farmer bought me, and now all I do is pull a plow. I’m tired of it. Why don’t you go up to the house and offer him $5,000 for me? I can still run, and I’ll make you plenty of money.”
The jogger couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“A talking horse!” he thought.
Soon, dollar signs started appearing in his head.
He hurried up to the farmhouse, where the old farmer was sitting on the porch.
“Hey,” said the jogger, “I’ll give you $5,000 for that old horse out in the field.”
The farmer looked at him and replied,
“Son, you can’t believe anything that horse says. He’s never even been to Kentucky.”
