A farmer was leaning on his fence, peacefully watching his horses graze in the field. It was a quiet evening, and everything seemed perfectly normal.
Then, out of nowhere, a dog walked up and stood beside him.
The dog didn’t bark or wag its tail. It simply looked out at the horses as if it did this every day.
After a few moments, the dog cleared its throat and said,
“Nice evening for watching the horses, isn’t it?”
The farmer froze.
Slowly, he looked at the dog, then at the horses, and then back at the dog again, wondering if he had imagined the whole thing.
The dog stood there calmly, acting as though talking was completely normal.
Finally, the farmer shouted,
“Holy cow! A talking dog!”
The dog sighed and rolled its eyes.
“Typical human,” it said. “You hear a dog speaking perfect English, and the first thing you do is compliment a cow that isn’t even here.”
The farmer stared in disbelief.
“You… you can actually talk!”
The dog nodded.
“Sure can. I can even do taxes, but nobody ever asks about that.”
The farmer scratched his head.
“Well, I’ve seen plenty of strange things on this farm, but this is the strangest of them all.”
The dog smiled and replied,
“Oh, you think that’s surprising? Just wait until you hear the horses. They’ve been judging you for years.”
