An Englishman met a Welsh farmer who was standing with his dog.
“Is that your dog?” the Englishman asked.
“Aye,” the Welshman replied.
“Do you mind if I speak to him?”
The Welshman laughed.
“You can try, but dogs don’t talk.”
The Englishman looked at the dog and said,
“Hello there! How are you?”
“To be honest, I’m doing great,” the dog replied.
The Welshman stared in complete shock.
The Englishman pointed at the farmer and asked,
“Is he your owner?”
“Yes,” said the dog.
“And does he treat you well?”
“Very well. He takes me for walks every day, feeds me good food, and lets me run around the park every week.”
The Welshman couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
The Englishman then noticed a horse.
“Would you mind if I spoke to your horse?”
The Welshman shook his head.
“Go ahead, but horses don’t talk either.”
The Englishman smiled.
“Hello, Horse. How are you today?”
“I’m doing just fine,” the horse answered.
The Welshman was now completely speechless.
The Englishman asked,
“Is this man your owner?”
“He is.”
“And how does he treat you?”
“Very well. He rides me, brushes me regularly, and keeps me in a comfortable stable.”
The Welshman could only stare in amazement.
Finally, the Englishman pointed to a sheep nearby.
“Mind if I talk to your sheep?”
The Welshman quickly waved his hands and said,
“Don’t listen to that sheep… it’s a complete liar!”
