John had just returned from a safari in Africa. When he arrived home, he went to visit his friend Mark and told him about his adventure.
John:
“I was deep in the jungle when I suddenly heard a noise behind me. I turned around and saw a huge lion licking its lips and staring right at me.”
Mark:
“That sounds terrifying!”
John:
“The lion started running toward me, so I ran as fast as I could. It was right behind me when suddenly it slipped, and I managed to get a little farther ahead.”
“The lion quickly got back up and chased me again. Just as it was catching up, it slipped for a second time.”
“I spotted a house nearby and ran toward it. The lion was almost on top of me when, believe it or not, it slipped for the third time!”
“With the last bit of energy I had, I reached the house, ran inside, and slammed the door shut.”
Mark:
“John, that’s quite a story! I would have been so scared I’d have wet my pants!”
John:
“Well, what do you think the lion kept slipping on?”
