A man was sitting quietly in his favorite chair, reading the newspaper.
Without warning, his wife walked up behind him and smacked him on the head with a rolled-up magazine.
“Ouch!” he shouted.
“What was that for?”
She held up a small piece of paper she had found in his pants pocket.
“It had the name Laura Lou written on it.”
The man smiled.
“Oh, that’s easy to explain.”
“A couple of weeks ago, I went to the horse races. Laura Lou was the name of one of the horses I bet on.”
His wife felt embarrassed.
“Oh… I’m sorry, honey. I should have trusted you.”
Three days later, the man was relaxing on the couch, watching a football game.
Suddenly, his wife walked in carrying a heavy frying pan.
WHACK!
She hit him so hard that he was knocked unconscious.
When he finally came to, he groaned,
“What on earth was that for?”
His wife folded her arms and replied,
“Your horse called.”
