By the time the morning church service was about to begin, only one man had arrived.
The priest looked at him and said,
“It seems everyone else has slept in. Would you rather go home, or should I still give the sermon?”
The man replied,
“When I go to feed my chickens and only one shows up, I still feed it.”
The priest took that as encouragement.
He stepped up to the pulpit and delivered a sermon that lasted for an entire hour.
When he finished, he asked the man,
“So, what did you think?”
The man smiled and replied,
“When I go to feed the chickens and only one comes, I don’t give it the whole bucket!”
