An elderly woman went to see her doctor.
The doctor smiled and asked,
“What seems to be the problem today, Madam?”
She replied,
“Doctor, I keep passing gas all the time.”
The doctor nodded.
“I see.”
She continued,
“The strange thing is that they don’t smell, and they don’t make any noise. In fact, while we’ve been sitting here talking for the last ten minutes, I’ve probably done it five times, and you haven’t noticed.”
The doctor quietly wrote a prescription and handed it to her.
The woman smiled with relief.
“Thank you, Doctor. Will this medicine finally stop my problem?”
The doctor shook his head.
“No. This prescription is to clear your blocked sinuses.”
He paused before adding,
“Because it smells absolutely awful in here. Next week, I’d like you to come back for a hearing test.”
