Early one morning, a husband gently woke his wife and asked,
“Honey, would you like to join me for yoga?”
She frowned.
“Oh… so you’re saying I’m fat?”
“No,” he replied. “Yoga is good for your health.”
“Oh, so now you’re saying I’m sick?”
“No, no,” he said. “If you don’t want to get up, that’s okay.”
She crossed her arms.
“So now you think I’m lazy?”
“No! You’re misunderstanding me.”
“Oh, really? So now I don’t understand anything?”
“I didn’t say that.”
“So you’re saying I’m lying?”
The husband sighed.
“Please… don’t stretch things this early in the morning.”
She replied,
“Oh, so now I’m a quarrelsome woman?”
Finally, the husband gave up.
“Alright. I won’t go to yoga either.”
She immediately answered,
“See? You never wanted to go. You were just trying to blame me.”
The husband said,
“Okay… you go back to sleep. I’ll go by myself.”
She replied,
“You always go everywhere by yourself and enjoy.”
The husband held his head.
“Please… I’m getting a headache.”
She answered,
“See? You’re so selfish. You only ever think about yourself. You never think about my health.”
The husband sat quietly, wondering where the conversation had gone wrong.
