Thanks to modern fertility technology, an 88-year-old woman was recently able to give birth to a baby.
After being discharged from the hospital, she returned home, and several relatives came to visit.
“Can we see the new baby?” one of them asked.
“Not yet,” said the mother. “Let me make some coffee, and we can chat for a while.”
About half an hour later, another relative asked,
“Can we see the baby now?”
“No, not yet,” the mother replied.
A little while later, the guests asked again,
“Can we see the baby now?”
“No, not yet,” she said once more.
Growing impatient, one of the relatives finally asked,
“Well, when can we see the baby?”
“When it cries,” the mother answered.
“When it cries?” they asked in surprise.
“Why do we have to wait until it cries?”
The mother replied,
“Because I forgot where I put it.”
