A little bird fell out of its nest and decided to explore the world.
Before long, it met a large, hairy animal.
“Hello,” said the little bird. “I’m a little bird. Who are you?”
“I’m a wolf-dog,” the animal replied.
“A wolf-dog? That’s strange! You can’t be both a wolf and a dog!”
The animal smiled.
“My mother is a dog, my father is a wolf, so I’m a wolf-dog.”
“Oh, wow!” said the little bird.
“I learned something new today!”
The bird happily flew away.
A little later, it reached a river and saw a fish swimming upstream.
“Hello! I’m a little bird. Who are you?”
“I’m a salmon trout,” the fish replied.
“A salmon trout? That can’t be right! You’re either a salmon or a trout!”
The fish answered,
“My mother was a trout, my father was a salmon, so I’m a salmon trout.”
“That’s amazing!” said the little bird.
“I learned something else today!”
The bird flew off once more.
A little while later, it spotted a tiny buzzing insect.
“Hello! I’m a little bird. Who are you?”
The insect replied,
“I’m a tiger mosquito.”
The little bird paused for a second…
Then exclaimed,
“Oh, come on! Now I know you’re making that up!”
