A big old lion woke up one morning feeling bold and powerful. He wanted all the animals to remember that he was the King of the Jungle.
So he found a small monkey, cornered him, and gave a mighty roar.
Lion:
“Who is the mightiest of all the jungle animals?”
The frightened monkey quickly answered.
Monkey:
“You are, mighty lion!”
Feeling proud, the lion continued through the jungle until he came across a wildebeest.
Lion:
“Who is the mightiest of all the jungle animals?”
Wildebeest:
“Oh, great lion! You are by far the mightiest animal in the jungle!”
Now feeling unstoppable, the lion spotted an elephant.
Lion:
“Who is the mightiest of all the jungle animals?”
Without saying a word, the elephant grabbed the lion with his trunk, slammed him against a tree several times, stomped on him, and then calmly walked away.
The battered lion slowly lifted his head and called after him.
Lion:
“Geez! Just because you don’t know the answer, you don’t have to get so upset!”
