The Cheapest Hearing Aid
Morris, an elderly man, realized he needed a hearing aid. However, he didn’t want to spend much money on one.
“How much do they cost?” he asked the salesperson.
“That depends,” the salesperson replied. “They range from $2.00 to $2,000.”
“Let me see the $2.00 model,” said Morris, who was known for being very frugal.
The salesperson placed the device around Morris’ neck.
“You just put this button in your ear and run this little string down into your pocket,” he explained.
“How does it work?” Morris asked.
“For $2.00, it doesn’t work,” the salesperson replied. “But when people see it on you, they’ll talk louder.”
