A completely bald man with one leg was invited to a costume party. He wasn’t sure what to wear, so he contacted a high-end costume shop and explained his situation.
A few days later, he received a package with a note:
Costume Shop:
“Dear Sir, enclosed is a pirate costume. The spotted handkerchief will cover your bald head, and with your wooden leg, you’ll look just like a pirate.”
The man was offended because the costume seemed to draw attention to his disability. He wrote a complaint.
A week later, another package arrived.
Costume Shop:
“Dear Sir, we’re sorry about the previous costume. Enclosed is a monk’s habit. The long robe will cover your wooden leg, and with your bald head, you’ll really look the part.”
Now the man was furious. First, they had highlighted his wooden leg, and now they were drawing attention to his bald head.
He sent the company another strongly worded complaint.
A few days later, a very small package arrived with one final note:
Costume Shop:
“Dear Sir, enclosed is a bottle of grenadine syrup. Pour the red syrup over your bald head, let it harden, then hold your wooden leg behind you and go as a candy apple!”
