An elderly couple went to see their doctor for their annual check-up.
The doctor examined the husband first. After finishing, he smiled and said,
“You’re in remarkably good health for your age.”
The old man nodded proudly.
“I owe it all to living a good, honest life.”
“Oh?” the doctor replied. “How so?”
The man said,
“I’ve lived such a clean life that the Lord even turns the light on for me whenever I go to the bathroom, and switches it off again when I leave.”
“The Lord does that?” the doctor asked.
“Absolutely,” the old man said with confidence.
The doctor smiled politely and then asked the wife to come in for her examination.
After checking her over, he said,
“You’re in excellent health as well.”
She smiled and then asked,
“How’s my husband?”
“Physically, he’s doing very well,” the doctor replied. “But I’m a little concerned about his memory. He insists that the Lord turns the bathroom light on and off every time he uses it.”
The wife rolled her eyes and sighed.
“Oh no… that silly old fool has been peeing in the fridge again!”
