A millionaire had a very unusual hobby. He collected live alligators and kept them in the large swimming pool behind his mansion.
He also had a beautiful daughter who was still single.
One day, he hosted a huge party. When all the guests had gathered, he stood up and made an announcement.
“My friends,” he said, “I have a special challenge. Any man who can swim across this pool full of alligators and make it to the other side alive will receive either one million dollars or my daughter’s hand in marriage.”
The moment he finished speaking, everyone heard a huge splash!
A man was suddenly in the pool, swimming as fast as he could while shouting in fear.
The guests cheered as he raced through the water, doing everything he could to avoid the alligators.
At last, he reached the other side. His shirt was torn, and he had a few scratches, but he was alive.
The millionaire was amazed.
“My boy,” he said, “that was incredible! I never thought anyone could do it. Now it’s time to choose your reward. Do you want my daughter or the one million dollars?”
The exhausted man caught his breath and replied,
“I don’t want your money, and I don’t want your daughter!”
“I want to know who pushed me into that pool!”
