A third-grade teacher had a fun tradition. Every morning during roll call, each student had to stand up and recite a short poem.
The first student, Dan, was the teacher’s favorite.
Dan:
“My name is Dan, and when I become a man, I’d like to go to Japan if I can, and I think I can.”
Next was a little girl named Suzy.
Suzy:
“My name is Suzy, and when I become a lady, I’d like to have a baby if I can, and I think I can.”
Then it was Little Johnny’s turn. He was a clever boy who always sat in the back of the classroom.
Johnny:
“My name is Johnny, and I don’t care about Japan, but I’d like to help Suzy with her plan if I can… and I think I can!”
