One morning, the teacher decided to ask the class about their pets.
Teacher:
“Alright, children. Who has a pet at home?”
Little Johnny immediately raised his hand.
Teacher:
“Yes, Johnny?”
Johnny proudly stood up.
Johnny:
“I have a pet cat.”
Teacher:
“That’s nice. Cats make wonderful pets.”
Johnny:
“Yes, but something strange happened this morning before I came to school.”
The whole class leaned forward, knowing Johnny’s stories usually ended in trouble.
Johnny:
“This morning, I poured some lighter fluid into my cat’s water bowl.”
The teacher looked shocked.
Teacher:
“You did what?!”
Johnny:
“Then the cat drank it.”
The teacher was horrified, but Johnny calmly continued.
Johnny:
“Right afterward, the cat raced up the stairs like a rocket. Then it jumped across the beds, ran back downstairs, zoomed through the living room, jumped onto the curtains, and climbed all the way to the top.”
The classroom went completely silent.
Johnny:
“Then suddenly, the cat fell to the floor and just lay there.”
Teacher:
“Oh my goodness, Johnny! That’s terrible! Was your cat dead?”
Johnny shook his head.
Johnny:
“No, Miss. He just ran out of gas.”
