A grandmother was telling her grandson how she ended up marrying his grandfather.
“When I was in my twenties,” she began, “the man I was dating went off to war.”
“We were deeply in love,” she said, “and we wrote letters to each other every single week.”
“It was during that time that I discovered what a wonderful man your grandfather was.”
The little boy looked at her and asked,
“So, did you marry Grandpa when he came home from the war?”
Grandma smiled and replied,
“Oh, I didn’t marry the man who wrote the letters.”
“Your grandfather was the mailman.”
