Grandpa was telling his young grandson about what life was like when he was a boy.
Grandpa:
“In the winter, we’d ice-skate on the pond. In the summer, we’d swim there and pick berries in the woods. We’d swing on an old tire my dad hung from a tree, and we had a pony that we rode all over the farm.”
The little boy listened in amazement. He sat quietly for a moment, thinking about everything Grandpa had described.
Finally, he said:
Grandson:
“Granddad, I wish I’d gotten to know you a lot sooner!”
