Alex saw an ad in the newspaper that read:
“Circus Looking for New Talents.”
He thought to himself,
“Why not? I’m pretty talented.”
So he called the circus.
A woman answered the phone.
“Hello.”
“Hi, is this the circus?”
“Yes, it is.”
“I heard you’re hiring.”
“That’s correct, sir. What’s your name?”
“Alex.”
“Alright, Alex. What makes you think you’d be a good fit for the circus?”
“Well, I have several talents. For example, I can make five three-point shots in a row.”
“Oh… okay. That’s impressive, sir, but it’s not exactly what we’re looking for. Maybe you should call a basketball team instead.”
“No, wait! I can also hula hoop for thirty seconds straight!”
“Sir, I don’t think you quite understand what a circus is looking for…”
“Please, wait! I can jump on one leg while saying the alphabet backward!”
“…”
“…”
“Goodbye, sir.”
The woman hung up.
Alex sat there for a few seconds before suddenly realizing something.
“Oh darn! I forgot to tell her I’m a horse!”
