A woman met an elderly man at a bar.
They got along well, talked for hours, and eventually decided to go back to his apartment for a cup of coffee.
As he showed her around, she noticed that one entire wall of his bedroom was covered with teddy bears.
There were three large shelves filled with them.
The bottom shelf held dozens of small teddy bears.
The middle shelf was packed with medium-sized bears.
The top shelf displayed huge teddy bears, all carefully arranged in neat rows.
She was surprised. The collection had obviously taken years to build, and she was touched by the care he had put into it.
She didn’t mention it, but she quietly thought,
“Maybe this kind, thoughtful man could really be someone special.”
The two spent the rest of the evening talking, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company.
When it was time to leave, she smiled and asked,
“So… how was our evening?”
The man smiled back, looked at her warmly, and said,
“Help yourself to any prize from the middle shelf.”
