A little old lady walked into the Bank of Canada carrying a large bag of cash.
She insisted on speaking directly with the bank president because she wanted to open a savings account.
“It’s a lot of money,” she explained.
After some hesitation, the staff escorted her into the president’s office.
“How much would you like to deposit?” he asked.
“One hundred sixty-five thousand dollars,” she replied, emptying the cash onto his desk.
Curious, the president asked,
“Ma’am, where did you get all this money?”
“I make bets,” she answered.
“Bets? What kind of bets?”
The old lady smiled.
“For example, I’ll bet you $25,000 that your testicles are square.”
The president laughed.
“That’s ridiculous! You can’t possibly win that bet.”
“So,” she asked, “would you like to take it?”
“Absolutely,” he replied.
The old lady then said,
“Since there’s a lot of money involved, may I bring my lawyer tomorrow morning at 10:00 as a witness?”
“Of course,” said the confident president.
That night, the president became surprisingly nervous.
He carefully checked himself several times, convinced there was no chance he could lose.
The next morning, right on time, the little old lady returned with her lawyer.
She reminded the president of the wager, and he agreed once again.
She then asked if he would lower his trousers so they could settle the bet.
Confident he was about to win $25,000, the president agreed.
The old lady examined him closely and then asked,
“May I feel them, just to be absolutely certain?”
“Well,” the president said, “for $25,000, I suppose that’s fair.”
As she did, he noticed her lawyer quietly banging his head against the wall.
“What’s wrong with your lawyer?” the president asked.
The old lady smiled and replied,
“Nothing at all.”
“I just bet him $100,000 that at exactly 10:00 this morning, I’d have the president of the Bank of Canada’s testicles in my hand.”
